About Us

 

The Certified Translation Professional (CTP) is the #1 online training and designation program for translation professionals.

The CTP is sponsored by the Global Translation Institute (GTI), a fast growing professional networking association for translators around the world. The Global Translation Institute (GTI) was founded to create an international forum of translation professionals who openly help and offer resources for others to advance their careers and business interests.

Adriana Tassini, Managing Director

Adriana TassiniAdriana Tassini founded the Certified Translation Professional (CTP) Program and now helps manage the program structure, examination, and overall program resources. Adriana is also the author of the most popular textbook for translators called, "The Translator Training Textbook."

Adriana first developed the CTP designation after speaking with many translators and finding that there was no global self-paced training program available in the translation industry. To date she had led the CTP program to attract over 700 global members.

Adriana is a Harvard University Alumni Member, and her background is in international relations and translation work in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Boston, Massachusetts (USA).

 

Vanessa Greenway, Associate

Vanessa-Greenway-Online-Translator-ProgramVanessa Greenway has worked for different global companies as a bilingual Executive Secretary with experience in HR Secretarial, Social Services, and Training and Development.

Vanessa helps review and improve the CTP Program as well as keeping our blog updated with information and sources that help our new students through the process of becoming a certified translator.

 

Richard Wilson, Program Delivery Advisor

Richard WilsonRichard Wilson is a bestselling author, global speaker and experienced executive in educational program development. Richard has experience both consulting with and providing training solutions to individuals, small and medium sized businesses, and publicly traded Fortune 500 clients around the world as well. His background includes developing the basic systems and online learning environment for a 1,300 participant program that went live in 2007, and he now assists the CTP Designation in delivering translation training to its members.

Richard's education includes an bachelors degree in Business and an M.B.A. in Marketing, he has also completed graduate level coursework on influence at Harvard University through their ALM program.

 

Charlie Barr, Technical Specialist

Charlie BarrCharlie Barr is our technical specialist and webmaster. Charlie helps create video resources and study guides for our members, and he will continue to assist in the development of additional resources for CTP Designation members.

Charlie has a Bachelors degree from Portland State University.

 

 

Rafael Albuquerque, Program Assistant

RafaelRafael Albuquerque was added to our team to help us consistently produce new resources, alumni benefits, and downloadable multimedia from our website.

Rafael is an expert in resource research and construction, and many of the tools you use within our programs were built with his help. Rafael has been especially helpful in creating the Translation Directory which is provided for free to all CTP alumni.

 

Theo O'Brien, Market Research

Theo O'BrienTheo O'Brien is in charge of completing market research on the translation and online learning industries. He helps make sure that our CTP Program is current and innovative in how the learning process is delivered. Many times if you see a report or email come out from our team Theo has been instrumental in writing that report or helping us improve it before sending it to you.

Theo holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Oregon.

Spanish Translation Specialist

Translator FacultyMabel Lima is an English to Spanish translator with 12 years of experience as a linguist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a major in Spanish Language and Literature, and a Certificate in Medical Interpretation. Mabel worked in the publishing sector as a writer, translator and managing editor for periodical publications. She has also participated in projects involving the translation and adaptation of textbooks and manuals for students of Spanish as a second language. Currently she assists the Global Translation Institute (GTI) in reviewing and grading participant essays within the Certified Translation Professional (CTP) Program.

Maria Luisa Deluca, Italian Translation Specialist

Translation Trainer LuisaMaria Luisa Deluca was raised in Rome, Italy, where she earned a law degree at La Sapienza University. She is a vibrant and energetic woman who is fluent in English, Italian, Spanish and Serbo-Croatian, as well as in American and Italian business operations. While attending College and Law School , Luisa tutored high school and college students in numerous subjects, including Latin, Greek, English, Italian Literature, and grammar, which ignited a passion for the study of language that burns today. She has been a member of the Italian Scouts Association for 20 years, and a Scout Leader for almost ten and in those roles, developed variety of unique teaching methods that she continues to utilize.

Luisa has a strong affinity for languages and has incorporated that interest in all aspects of her past and current work. While in law school, Luisa worked as a registered interpreter and translator for the Court. As a practicing attorney as well as over the past few years in the US, she worked as a legal interpreter and performed legal document reviews for multiple international lawsuits. She also translated numerous documents for criminal, civil and class-action suits, as well as translating contractual language for American, Spanish and Italian business ventures. Luisa has also worked in translation outside of the legal field, translating financial documents, periodicals and advertising materials. She also has spent the past 8 years translating in the financial industry with Risk Management and Merchant Level Sales.

Igor Belayev, Russian Translation Specialist

Igor is an experienced Russian translator who has written an English to Russian dictionary which is now used in scientific and technical literature. Igor now assists the Global Translation Institute (GTI) in reviewing and grading participant essays within the Certified Translation Professional (CTP) Program.

Dorian Saintier, French Translation Specialist

Dorian is an experienced French translator who assists the Global Translation Institute (GTI) in reviewing and grading participant essays within the Certified Translation Professional (CTP) Program.

Mohamed Zeid Arabic Translation Specialist

Mohamed is an Arabic translation and localization professional with over 13 years of experience in localization, translation, testing and QA. Mohamed now assists the Global Translation Institute (GTI) in reviewing and grading participant essays within the Certified Translation Professional (CTP) Program.

Ignacio Caballero,Translation Industry Advisor

Translation Trainer IgnacioIgnacio is a Bolivian national who grew up in New York where he did most of his schooling and the core of his graduate studies in medicine and public health. He started to translate during his school years when some of his teachers and his Spanish speaking classmates needed a helping hand. Later, at the university level, he used to translate all sorts of medical articles that were shared by his fellow medical students in La Paz. He also taught every level of English at the Bolivian American Center where he took some training in TESL.

In the academic field, Ignacio holds and MD, and a MPH and a MSc, as well as several high specialty Diplomas, all from prestigious national and international academic institutions. Linguistically he has Diplomas in English from Michigan University and also from the British Council.

His first true certification in translation is the CTP diploma that he has recently obtained from the Global Language Institute. He considers it a benchmark in his translation career and hopes it will be a key to open more doors in the vast world of translation.

Rasha Omar, Translation Industry Advisor

RashaRasha has over 10 years of translation industry experience who is an alumni of the Certified Translation Professional (CTP) designation program. Rasha's translation work includes working on projects for the Modern College of Business and Science, the Caledonian College of Engineering, Al Awor Trading Co., Oman Tourism College, Hotel Mercure Al Falaj, and Sheraton Oman Hotels.

Rasha has a Bachelors degree of Arts focusing in English Language and Literature and a Diploma of Translation from Omdurman Ahlia University.

Roger Barbieri, Translation Industry Advisor

RogerRoger is by definition a natural born linguist and a language lover. Back in 1988, he pursued a career in translation and interpretation in Lima, Peru and simultaneously to studying; he started his professional life teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) for primary and secondary schools and language centers for adults. Over the years, he also got certificates of proficiency in English like the Michigan, FCE, and a few others.

After a few initial years in language teaching, he spent a short time in the tourism industry as an interpreter, and then he started a devoted career in translation, originally working in-house for local agencies, and then as a freelancer, with his office fully set up at home. With almost 20 years of experience in the field, at present he translates for top agencies and private clients in the United States, Canada and Peru, and he recently earned his Certified Translation Professional (CTP) designation.

Mariana Ruberto, Translation Industry Advisor

I am Mariana Ruberto. I live in Corrientes, in the northeast of Argentina. I have studied English since I was 10 years old and in 1998 I decided to study to be a teacher. Since then I have been teaching to students of different ages. In 2002 I came up with the idea of doing something else with the language and I began to accept offers as a translator. I have been translating as a freelancer for many professionals in different fields. In 2006 I worked for a TV Production Company and did some jobs for a translation company in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. I never stopped studying and I completed several courses on translation English to Spanish-Spanish to English at renowned institutions here in my country. I also have an International Diploma in the use of Spanish issued by “Fundación Litterae” and several international exams in the use of English (FCE, CAE, ARELS, CELS, Trinity). For almost 8 years I have been working as a freelance translator and now I specialize in translations for some professional bureaus in my province and also work with end clients. Last year I signed to be an expert translator for the Justice Department of my city.

Maryna Zhylenkova, Translation Industry Advisor

MarynaMaryna is an advisor to the Certified Translation Professional (CTP) designation program. She speaks five languages and currently resides in in Canada. She has completed many translation projects in France and for French companies with clients and operations around the world.

Currently Maryna is assisting our team by helping us improve the set of benefits and resources that we make available to our translation training program participants.

 

Noof Mohammad, Translation Industry Advisor

Noof is an experienced English-Arabic translator who resides in Dubai, UAE. Noof has a Bachelors of Science in Education from Zayed University and a Masters of Arts in English Language Translation from the University of Sharjah. She has experience in working as a Legal Specialist for the Ministry of Social Affairs in Dubai where she helped translate news, announcements, articles, and website content for the government. Noof is a member of the Global Translation Institute (GTI) and alumni of the Certified Translation Professional (CTP) designation program.
